OUR MISSION
Our mission is to create a collaborative academic community in order to empower all learners to meet high expectations and to believe in their own ability to achieve success.
Centennial Elementary is a K-5 elementary school serving neighborhoods in east Evans and southeast Greeley. About 650 students attend our school. In addition to standard academics, we offer our students art, music, physical education, and a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. Our school has a rich diversity, with students from many backgrounds. We are focused on achievement and pushing students to always achieving their very best.
BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading incentive program for students in grades 3-12. The purpose is simply to encourage students to read great books have fun, and learn teamwork skills while competing peers.
A student participates by reading from the book list provided for that year's Battle of the Books. Students may count "books" they have read before. However, they cannot count books that they have only seen on a video or a movie. They must read the book. Students may want to keep a summary so they can review this information before their "Local Battle."
